Picture Zero is a film and TV sustainability consultancy and production company. We believe in the power of stories and the need for change. We are lucky enough to work in an industry that entertains, informs and inspires. Now we are working to help that industry make the maximum impact on screen and minimum impact off it.

About Steve
A creative leader at the intersection of storytelling and sustainability, Steve helps the screen industries cut carbon while raising ambition. A BAFTA-winning director turned sustainability adviser, he’s worked with broadcasters, studios and independents to make sustainability part of how they create, not an afterthought. One of the UK’s first albert trainers, he’s helped hundreds of creatives take climate action without losing their spark. Steve co-founded Picture Zero to bring creativity and climate action together – because culture can shift hearts and habits in an instant. When people learn by doing, that knowledge sticks – and it spreads.

About Fergus
Fergus co-founded Picture Zero. He originally qualified as a solicitor and has worked in many production capacities as a producer and executive producer. He brings over a decade of experience in TV and film production. His credits include LINE OF DUTY, THE FALL and BE WATER. Fergus co-founded Picture Zero and is focused on the impact that improving production management and supply efficiencies for content production can have on driving sustainable change across the UK. Fergus lives in South London with his young family and spends his weekends chasing footballs, golf balls, rugby balls and cricket balls.

About Will
Will began his career as a strategy consultant with PwC, working with some of the world’s leading TV, film and music companies, before moving into production as a line producer and producer for feature films and documentaries. His background gives him a genuine understanding of the creative, budgetary and practical considerations productions face, and he always approaches his work on sustainability with this in mind. He has supported studios, commissioners and production groups with sustainability at corporate and slate levels, and on productions across the globe. Will’s work is driven by the belief that our creative industries have the power and the responsibility to inspire positive action on climate change.

About Pip
Based in Scotland, Pip Wilmott brings over 15 years of film and TV experience—from her early days on set to HOD roles on HETV and major international features. She pairs this extensive production knowledge with an MSc (Distinction) in Science, Ethics and Law from the University of Glasgow, where she used advanced coding and geospatial analysis to design targeted anti-poaching strategies. At Picture Zero, Pip applies data-driven solutions to cut emissions, boost resource efficiency, and build ethical supply chains. Her love of the Scottish Highlands and passion for nature fuel her commitment to tackling climate and biodiversity challenges on and off set.

About Isobel
With a diverse background spanning film, dance and immersive cinema, Isobel’s work in the creative industries is underscored by a passion for storytelling. Her experience in scripted film development and production – across narrative and documentary features, as well as award-winning audio dramas – has deepened her understanding of how stories are made and felt, informing a grounded, holistic approach to her work in sustainability. Guided by curiosity and care for the natural world, Isobel believes that creativity in all its forms has a unique ability to connect us, and serve as a powerful catalyst for change.

About Maya
Maya specialises in providing sustainability support for scripted feature films and HETV, with experience on international productions shooting in several territories. After working a variety of jobs in the film industry, Maya joined Picture Zero as an on-the-ground sustainability coordinator, with a particular focus for shifting the culture on film sets. Before this, Maya worked at NBCUniversal, where she was heavily involved in the company’s sustainability initiatives. Maya is passionate about climate fiction as a tool to tell important stories and to create a fairer and more inclusive world.

About Liesl
Liesl is a systems thinker and pragmatic doer who arrived at sustainable film and TV production after successfully launching earthworks, South Africa’s first publication dedicated to green building and urban planning. She co-found specialist consultancy WrapZERO in 2017, leading on major international productions filming in Cape Town, and developing accredited training with youth-focused NGO Greenset. WrapZERO, along with the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission, took home the Makers and Shakers Award for sustainability in 2020 in recognition of pioneering industry research and guidelines. Liesl now lives in Northeast London with her family, from where she manages implementation on Picture Zero projects while remaining engaged with regenerative design and practice.

About Sabrina
Sabrina is driven by a belief in collective action, working alongside people across the screen industry to tackle climate challenges in practical ways. She has led collaborative projects on temporary power, sustainable supply chains and training, working with studios, productions, suppliers and industry bodies to embed sustainability into everyday practice. Starting her career in international development before moving into the screen industry, Sabrina has experience spanning on-the-ground production, major broadcasters and BAFTA albert. She believes lasting change happens through collaboration, clear communication and a shared commitment to doing things differently.

About Sara
Sara has been working in Sustainability for Screen for 2 years after working in the production office for a few years. She joined Picture Zero halfway through 2024 and has supported multiple shoots in Scotland on-the-ground and various projects remotely across the UK and internationally. In early 2025, she was appointed as Scotland’s Screen Sustainability Consultant to help drive sustainable work practices across the Scottish industry and problem solve the challenges this country is faced with. The complementary roles allow Sara to remain informed of what’s happening around the world and consider how it could be possible in Scotland.

About Aidan
Aidan is a dual US/UK national award-winning filmmaker. His particular interest is environmental storytelling and sustainable Film & TV Production, which was the focus of his 2025 TEDx talk, his RGS-nominated undergraduate dissertation, his work in New York City with Earth Angel, and in Washington DC at the US Department of Energy Headquarters. Aidan has a range of technical experience from over 9 years of working on productions, including feature films, live television and radio broadcasts, and has given talks at major international film festivals, including Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca and Raindance. He is also the Manager of The Creativity Conference, which holds multiple in-person international events every year.

Emily Paris
Sustainability Manager
About Emily
Based in London, Emily brings a background that spans academic research and on-the-ground production experience. She holds a Masters in Sustainable Business and Innovation from Utrecht University, with a focus on sustainability in film and TV, and went on to become the first Sustainability Coordinator to work on the ground in Malta, on Jurassic World Dominion under Picture Zero's guidance. From there, Emily worked back-to-back sustainability roles across productions in Malta before transitioning to the UK, working under a range of studios including UIS, NBCUniversal, SISTER, Netflix and Hat Trick Productions. Across these roles, she translated her academic grounding into practical, on-set experience. Emily is now a Sustainability Manager at Picture Zero, where she continues to bridge the gap between policy and practice on shoots across the UK and the US.
